Devin Townsend Project - Addicted!

Devin Townsend Project begins where Ziltoid the Omniscient left off, with Devin Townsend at the helm. The project is a planned four-album series. Rather than a specific line-up of musicians, as he utilized in The Devin Townsend Band, and rather than performing the entirety of the music himself, as in Ziltoid the Omniscient, the Devin Townsend Project will feature a number of different musicians for each album.

The first release, Ki, is set to be available for purchase by late May and early June 2009. For Ki, Townsend recruited veteran jazz drummer Duris Maxwell, local bassist Jean Savoie, and the former keyboardist for The Devin Townsend Band, Dave Young. Devin has also recruited Ché Dorval as an additional vocalist.

The second release is titled Addicted. Planned to be a heavy, simplistic, and straightforward rock album, it serves as the bridge from the quieter Ki to the expected zany metal tones of the album following it. The line-up thus far confirmed is Ryan Van Poederooyen (also a veteran of The Devin Townsend Band) on the drums, another member of the DTB Brian Waddell on the bass, and Anneke van Giersbergen (notable from The Gathering, Agua de Annique and Ayreon) on an unspecified amount of vocals.

The third and fourth albums are called Deconstruction and Ghost, with further concrete details forthcoming.

Grey Waters - Below The Ever Setting Sun

Grey Waters was formed by D. in 2006 originally as a solo project, however it was soon decided that other input should be incorporated to complete the vision in mind; thus saw Tim enter the band. Some rough recordings were made in 2006/2007 but were deemed unsatisfactory for release, and unfortunately what was then to proceed was years of constant delays and problems, which saw many songs re-written, re-re-written & eventually totally scraped all together.

In 2009 new songs were written and with much more determination present from D. to get Grey Waters up and running properly without any compromises. This determination finally paid off and after 3 years of silence Grey Waters finally entered the studio in mid-July 2009 which resulted in the debut EP titled “Below The Ever Setting Sun” released via Eisenwald in February 22nd 2010. The band now has it’s focus on a full-length recording, with the aim for completion in 2010.

Nosound - A Sense Of Loss

Nosound inventively combines influences from ’70s psychedelia,’80s/’90s ambient and contemporary alternative, post and progressive rock. In July 2008 the band signed to post-progressive label Kscope/Snapper.
The new third Nosound album A Sense Of Loss is to be released on Kscope/Snapper on October 26th 2009 (available now for pre-order with limited signed postcard), again in a deluxe 2 disc edition including a DVD containing 5.1 surround, 24bit mixes, a different “long guitar solo” version of a song, music video and video footage, picture gallery and more.

The project was started as a one man studio project in late 2002 by Giancarlo Erra, but has since become a band in studio and live performances. Music is evocative and intense, with personal songwriting. Influences go from Pink Floyd to Brian Eno, from Porcupine Tree to Sigur Ros, passing through rock, electronic/ambient and postrock.Official debut album (‘Sol29’) was released the first quarter of 2005, followed in 2006 by a live Dvd (‘The World is Outside’) containing also unreleased material. A new live was issued in the first half of 2007 (‘Slow, it goes’). Anticipating the new album was then released an exclusive Ep (‘Clouds’), containing three out takes from new album recording sessions.
Three years on from debut album Sol29, Nosound returns with its highly anticipated second album, ‘Lightdark’, released through the Burning Shed label.
