Sturmast - Ibis Redibis Nunquam In Bello Peribis (FLAC)

Hungarian martial industrial/neofolk/military folk band. Sturmast plays a unique kind of folk influenced martial industrial music. Far from being an instrumental one-man computer band putting some classical loops and battle sounds together, Sturmast is a collective fronted by Varga Gabor. Here real musicians play real instruments, thus introducing the good old band-feeling to the martial industrial scene. The music contains powerful, eruptive live drums (toms, snare, bass drum), haunting violin and cello, acoustic guitar, and a selection of traditional folk instruments (e.g. kaval, jaw harp). Even the keyboards are “live” recorded in some ways, and a considerable part of the samples and special effects are made by the band itself. Absorbing atmosphere links the compositions which vary from hypnotic monotonous to marching repetitive, from moody experimental to beautiful, melancholy-filled delicate. The lyrics, portraying the fight of the historic and modern, spiritual and secular, uplifting and ill-fated, are mostly in Hungarian.

Der Blutharsch - The Pleasures Received In Pain

Der Blutharsch is the main project of Austrian musician Albin Julius. Following in the footsteps of Autopsia and Laibach, Julius creates a marching music of bombastic rhythms and folkish melodies, often infused with historical military speeches and orchestral samples. The earlier works tended towards a minimalistic sample-based instrumental style in an industrial/ambient vein, while more recent material has headed into a folk/acoustic sound, often accompanied with live vocals and instruments.

Rome - Flowers from Exile

ROME is a Luxembourgish Chanson Noir/ Post-Folk act founded in late 2005 as the main output for the songs of Jerome Reuter and was joined by co-producer Patrick Damiani as official member in early 2008. ROME signed to the Swedish label CMI in 2006 to release an E.P. entitled Berlin (June 2006) and the albums Nera (November 2006), Confessions d’Un Voleur d’Ames (April 2007), Masse Mensch Material (March 2008). In 2009 ROME got signed to the german label Trisol and released the EP To Die Among Strangers (May 2009) and the album Flowers From Exile (June 2009).

In its earlier work ROME mixes influences of Industrial and Post- Folk with Experimental and Electronic Pop. The traditions of (french) Chanson and (american) Folk are becoming more and more influential in their current work. In 2009 violin player Nikos Mavridis officially joined the band to further contribute to the creation of their unique sound, which they themselves refer to as Chanson Noir.
