65daysofstatic - Album Discography

65daysofstatic began in Sheffield, United Kingdom in 2001 as Iain Armstrong, Paul Wolinski and Joe Shrewsbury. Contrary to popular belief, they did not originally form to try to write music to fit the unreleased and little known John Carpenter film, ‘Stealth Bomber’ (starring Kurt Russell). Instead, they took their name from the 1954 CIA-backed coup d’etat in Guatemala. There, the CIA disabled Guatemalan communication systems while spreading propaganda, leading to the overthrow of the government.

65daysofstatic (also known by the abbreviation 65dos or 65days) are an instrumental electronic post-rock band from Sheffield, UK.

The band intersperses heavy, progressive, guitar-driven instrumental sections with both idm-esque programmed and live drums. Their albums, as a result, maintain a distinctively gritty, almost industrial feel.

Arms And Sleepers - Matador Remixed

Arms and Sleepers began one night in the back of an ambulance in Cambridge. In an alleyway a man was bleeding with a cassette player in hand, the play button still on. What sounded like recordings of a gospel choir blared from the tin speaker, while down the street a jazz band could be heard.

The man was dying. He dropped the cassette player on the cement and closed his eyes, the sound carrying through the air into his ears for one last time. Though this moment in time died with him, his cassette lived on — and Arms and Sleepers were born.

Persistent international touring and constant dissemination of their sounds makes Arms and Sleepers a worthy opponent for the typical temporal constraints that can befall a band. Having issued a series of limited edition releases and the well-received Bliss Was it in That Dawn to be Alive EP (Fake Chapter) in 2007, Black Paris 86 is their debut full-length on Expect Candy Records (DE).

A tight and intense record, listening to it feels like sitting in a cinema, watching landscapes, beauty and tragedy - feeling warm and safe while a hint of mystery seems to whisper that not everything is ok out there.

(from Last.fm)
The brand new release of this great band. Remixes of their album "Matador" from other bands and themselves. Enjoy it!

Trentemøller - Into The Great Wide Yonder

Anders Trentemøller is a Danish electronic musician from Copenhagen.

Trentemøller made his debut in 1997 together with DJ T.O.M. when they formed the first live-house act in Denmark, Trigbag, and started playing concerts all over the globe. Trigbag’s single “Showtime” was played by international DJs such as Alex Gopher, Laurent Garnier and Etienne de Crécy. Trigbag dissolved in 2000.

Trentemøller returned on Naked Music in 2003 with his The Trentemøller EP including the tracks “Le Champagne” and “Work in Progress”. Trentemøller received the award “Up Front Release of the Year” at the Danish DJ Awards in February 2004 for the Track “Le Champagne”.

In late 2004 he and his friend and partner, DJ Buda, issued a white label remix of Aphex Twin’s “Windowlicker”, under the name “Run Jeremy”. Together they’ve also made other great tracks such as “Gamma” and “25 Timer”. Furthermore, Trentemøller has worked together with DJ Buda and DJ T.O.M. on another track on the upcoming and much anticipated Lulu Rouge album entitled “Bless You” which was released in May 2008.

In February 2005 Steve Bug released the renowned Trentemøller EP “Physical Fraction” on his label Audiomatique. This release put Trentemøller on the map of internationally successful producers, and was followed by three releases on Bug’s main label Poker Flat: Polar Shift, Sunstroke and the Nam Nam EP. Many reader polls awarded him as the Best Newcomer of the year 2005.

The Field - Yesterday And Today

The Field is a minimal techno artist, based in Stockholm, Sweden.

His music comes from tiny loops of pop history. It might actually be an older brother to the Cologne movement Pop Ambient - the sentimental brother who is never content with being in the background, the one with the heart on his sleeve. To clarify: The Field makes dance music. The edges are soft, the mood often romantic, the sounds moving up, up from the ground. As ”minimal” as a sunset, as ”banging” as a pillow.

In 2005, Willner submitted a demo tape to the German indie label Kompakt and was subsequently signed. He released his first 12”, a demo mixtape of Norwegian singer Annie’s “Heartbeat”, as well as the track “Things Keep Falling Down”.

In 2006, “Sun & Ice” 12” was released. Later in 2007, Wilner became the first musician to take part in the Nordic Light Hotel’s “Sound of Light” concept. After staying at the hotel, Wilner used the experience as the basis for his EP of the same name. His 2007 album “From Here We Go Sublime” has met high critical acclaim.

Somatic Responses - Circumflex

john and paul healy, collectively known throughout the world as somatic responses, are native residents of a small industrial mining community snugly located in the southwest region of wales. amongst the 20,000 inhabitants of the city of ammanford, a sometimes-overbearing intimacy exists, where everyone knows everyone else, and where traditional welsh lifestyle is still the common trend.this is all quite an interesting backdrop indeed, when considering it has been the environment in which the somatic responses have consistently produced some of the world's most abrasive and original electronic music for the past 8 years. as john healy states, "our lives are completely external to this environment and lifestyle... our sound has no deep connection to our surroundings. i think we care more about where we are mentally than where we are physically, with reference to our music." this contrast becomes immediately apparent upon hearing the somatics' actual material. while maintaining a consistent balance of the aggressive and the introspective over the years, their sounds have been shown to be extremely diverse. the somatic responses intend to push their own experimentation in electronic music further with every passing day. somatic responses are into dislocated & broken beats that still retain rhythm. another consistent theme in the somatics' music is their tendency to design, construct, and decimate complex structures of sound, while ranging the level of architecture from the most intricate manipulation to complete fluctuation of mood and theme.

the sounds could be labeled as industrial with complex dislocated rhythms and associated structures filled with pure plasic and atari cookies.

Ah Cama-Sotz - Dead Cities

Tales of Dead Cities as described by the Master of Darkness, the Bat himself. For his new album Dead Cities Ah Cama-Sotz created no less then ten descriptive aural landscapes from all over the world; From the solitude of the empty streets of 'Enuma Elish' to the concrete structures which are nothing less then the remains of a reactor meltdown ('Thermonuclear').

There are many stories, myths and legends about the origin of civilization and many of them have their roots in the Middle-East. The ritual and Arabian influences on Dead Cities are a welcome diversion in the current era of straightforward and emotionless thinking. And as with so many other releases from Ah Cama-Sotz, Dead Cities is also a lesson in history and philosophy.

The multitude of influences you will be able to discover on this album are as diverse as the various locations of the Dead Cities. The tracks range from deep ambient with a religious touch to ritual layered structures - sometimes even close to straightforward dub - to technoid industrial epic anthems, bound to make the audience scream - no wait - pray for more.

Xingu Hill - Alterity

'alterity' is the fourth xingu hill album and the latest output of john n. sellekaers, well-known as creative collaborator with projects like torsion, black lung/xingu hill, snog, urawa, ambre, & nternal and chief of the audiomastering-studio metarc in brussels.

this album is free from stylistic limitations, it travels through groovy ambient tunes with surrealistic atmospheres to chaotic soundscapes towards slower, more experimental pieces which however form an intimate coexistence. the complex melting of these different styles emphasizes 'alterity' with a special, unique character, which may first appear with a strange affection but gets familiar the more attentive you listen. deeply fractured sonic mutations build up their own morphogenic aesthetics. it's unalterable giving a mindfully listening to enjoy a more experimental side of electronic music and assimilate the full potential with access to an exceptional sound experience! it exists in its own space and with its own rules!

subtractiveLAD - Life At The End Of The World

With five genre-defying and emotionally arresting full-lengths in as many years, Stephen Hummel (aka subtractiveLAD) has established himself as n5MD’s “flagship” artist and the embodiment of its “emotionally experimental” credo and ethos. Combining the warmth and warble of classic analogue hardware, a vast cache of original instruments and plug-ins and an improvisatory compositional freedom gained from over a decade in jazz, subtractiveLAD creates a sound both cathartic and escapist, highly personal yet universally accessible, with an emotional depth rarely heard in the often cold, cerebral world of “armchair electronica.”

As a classically trained vocalist, accomplished jazz saxophonist and Fine Arts student (with a major in English Lit.), Hummel had already accrued an impressive set of influences and inspirations when he decided to pad his resume (and wallet) by founding his own patch/plug-in company, “Wavelength Devices,” in 1999. Finding the same “thrill of discovery” in tweaking parameters that he’d relished in improv jazz, he spent the next four years creating custom instruments (with a special emphasis on analogue emulators), shedding his acoustic roots as he amassed the unique “sonic arsenal” that would become the bedrock of the subtractiveLAD sound. When business slowed in 2004, Hummel donned his new moniker (a nod to his favorite filters and an acknowledgment of his own mortality), produced a demo and, with an in from fellow Vancouverite Spark, dropped a copy on the desk of n5MD label-owner, Mike Cadoo. Impressed by the demo’s technical precision and emotional integrity, Cadoo signed him less than 6 months later and, in February 2005, released subtractiveLAD’s debut disc Giving Up The Ghost to widespread, international praise.
